Last night I attempted to watch all 5 episodes that Marlene suggested we rewatch for clues before the #BigAReveal tonight (see below). Unfortunately I only got through the first three, but I took some notes as I went along, so hopefully this can help us all out :]
S3E1: It Happened That Night
– Whoa, a 5 month time jump
– Hints that A is a boy or a lesbian “show me your boobs” – or is this the girls joking while they are drunk. Somewhat unclear.
– Emily “digs up” Ali’s grave
– Hanna looks offended when Aria is aggressive toward mona
– Lucas!!!
– Sketchy camera pans on Aria!
– “You said you wanted to be a teacher. Was that true or were you just hitting on me” – Ezra “Did you really play b26 or were you just hitting on me” – Aria. this is so significant
– Hanna goes to visit Mona in Radley, but at first the angle is shot like she’s A
– WREN. He “volunteers a few days a month” at Radley
– Mona was watching their interaction
– Lucas shows up and they talk about him, say he’s gone all Boo Radley (TKAM reference)
– Aria ‘sees’ A in the bathroom and has her mental breakdown.. MPD
– Emily and Toby scene: we find out he hasn’t talked to Jenna. Emily tells him she parties a lot. She said she partied so hard one night she didn’t remember anything.
– Lost Woods Resort: Spencer goes and its cleared out. She pulls out a laptop there.
– Wren tells Hanna to come back to Radley.
– Spencer gets a lot of unknown calls and answers and just says “I’m listening “
– It ends up being Garrett willing to tell Spencer information. He knows who took the body.
– The iconic Aria mirror scene.. MPD
– Mona envisions Hanna as Ali.
– Spencer makes a replica of the A lair: 5 hoodies, zombie costume like the one that attacked ali on Halloween (we know later that it’s Lucas)
– OMG there is an 8 in a circle behind Emily’s head at the first A Lair. “I Am 8” like the preview. There’s one behind spencer too. Wait they are everywhere.
– Someone breaks into Spencer’s car and puts all the photos from
that night everywhere.
– “Mona played with dolls, I play with body parts. Game on Bitches – A”
Overall thoughts on this episode: We see traces of Aria’s mental instability or MPD. We see many 8s – which are teased in the #BigAReveal promo. Lucas and Wren are both in this episode and acting rather sketchy. Toby, as always, is sketchy.
S3E24: A Dangerous Game
– Season Finale of Season 3
– The “previously on” Mona says Spencer look at all that’s happened since you turned me down on our trip up the mountain. and Spencer says “you don’t have to ask me again Mona, I’m in”
– Spencer comes out of Radley
– Toby is allegedly dead
– “We lost Toby a long time ago, we just didn’t know it” – S
– “I decided I didn’t want to be a victim anymore, that’s not who I am” – S
– A in the hard rock lair. In the RV. With Mona.
– There are photos of Aria everywhere.
– H’s attitude toward Mona has completely changed this season.
– Shana. Her meeting with Spencer is so sketchy and it seems like they already know each other.
– A sends Jenna a message.
– Ezra has “appointments” at night
– Jenna is meeting Shana who says that all the girls will be together that night.. Hm.
– Aria is crying and crazy again.
– Ezra looks so sketchy after she breaks up with him.
– Spencer meets A aka Toby aka Pretty Eyes.
– Spencer is crazy in the hoodie. She tricked Toby into seeing her.
– “Everything I’ve done so I can protect you” – T
– S was the one in the RV lair with M
– S kidnapped Malcolm. She broke up Ezria.
– “I’ve been working with Mona to keep you safe” – T
– Melissa is trying to get into Jenna’s house.
– Melissa and Jenna and Shana talk about the girls being in the cabin at 9.
– Red Coat is in charge at this point.
– “Get ready to say goodbye to Paige because I promise A’s going to
take her away from you” – Aria – well this came true
– wait Spencer became part of the A team at Radley…. and that’s where the game was stolen from Mona
– Aria has all the answers.
– Do Spencer & Toby sleep together for the first time while they’re on the A team?
– Ezra and Aria in the same staircase as the very first episode. And she tells him that there will never be a happy ending.
– Spencer follows fake Red Coat. The girls tricked her into following RC! I forgot.
– Mona’s the only person who knows who RC is.
– They all believe that Toby and Spencer are on the good side.
– Ezra is Aria’s teacher again: “All things truly wicked start from innocence”
– “Are we sure we trust Toby”
– Plane episode !
– Liars get locked in the lodge. Someone is in the woods.
– Lodge fire. Mona trapped with the girls. Melissa/Shana/Jenna definitely got them.
– We find out Mona doesn’t know who Red Coat is.
– Spencer sees Ali.
– Toby gets hit after he sees the girl that looks exactly like Maya.
– Ali pulls Hanna and the rest of the girls out.
– Ali is Red Coat.
– Compass on the lighter.
– “I made a deal with the devil and she gave me a way in and out of that place. at first it was fun, having a partner, but then the game changed. she stole you from me. I don’t know who drugged you {Emily} but I was at the cemetery and so was red coat. She was wearing a mask. She looked just like Ali.” – Mona
– And then Aria (of course) has all the answers – “that’s probably what happened today. it wasn’t ali it was a mask”
– They find Wilden’s police car pulled out of the lake with the video of
Hannas mom. Jenna and Shana helping him.
– “You’re mine now. Kisses – A”
– They open the trunk {we know it’s a dead pig}
Overall thoughts on this episode: We see more of Aria’s mental breakdown, and that it is getting worse. Jenna Shana and Melissa are linked and most likely trapped the girls in the lodge. We see someone who is probably Maya aka she’s not dead. Aria once again has all the answers. A’s ending changes from – A to – Kisses A (which is allegedly significant). Toby is sketchy as he is on the A team with Spencer. Neither can really be trusted. Wren and Lucas aren’t in this episode.
S4E25: A is for Answers
– Noel Kahn brings the girls to New York.
– “Why would we trust Noel Kahn”- Liars “Because he has secrets too” – Ali {but do we ever learn them ???}
– Spencer and Ali don’t hug.
– I completely forgot they thought Jessica was A.
– Ali doesn’t seem surprised.
– I’m fairly certain there are twin photos next to Ali’s head
– CeCe in questioning.
– HOLBROOK questions her! And we know he’s later involved with Allison.
– She knows who killed the girl people thought was Allison. She bribes Holbrook into not arresting her if she tells him that. I bet that’s what happened.
– “So who killed her?” “The same person who’s trying to hurt Allison.” That’s Melissa!
– Flashbacks of Ian Melissa and Allison. Allison steals all his videos.
– The videos changed the game. She thought Jenna was A.
– She wasn’t A.
– Melissa is back in town.
– Allison gets the yellow tank with a note signed from her “Mom”
– Jessica tells her not to go out.
– “I know things about {the Hastings} that you don’t” “You can never turn your back on a Hastings”
– Jessica is very worried about someone escaping Radley potentially.
– Toby calls Allison that night.
– Ali drugs them.
– There is clearly a pig behind Aria.
– Ali holds the pig before she leaves the barn.
– “I know what you see in Toby Spencer. You want to believe him.” – Mona
– Ezra picks up Allison and is angry.
– Holbrook is questioning the entire Hastings family, separately, and they have no idea.
– Ali orders a gin and tonic. (A drinks this a lot)
– She sets up her meeting with Ezra.
– “Do people still do that? Go sunning in the French Riviera?” – E to A
– He calls her a fabulist – a teller of lies and says she reminds him of Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s {IS HE VARJACK}
– “He wanted to write a story about me. But it was an insult. She couldn’t even name her cat.” – Ali
– “She didn’t name her cat because she didn’t think she deserved to be loved” – Aria
– “I’m sorry Aria, for everything” – Ali
– Ezra breaks up with her that night. If they were ever dating.
– She leaves him with “If you ever get that story published, you better spell my name right”
– She sees Ian at the kissing rock.
– She says he’s going to jail and threatens to put him there. He gets violent.
– “There are things on here that can bring everybody down. Including your family” – Ian to Ali
– She never kissed him like in the video.
– We find out Ezra found Shana in Georgia and knew she was in contact with Ali.
– Mr. Hastings hired a PI to follow Spencer when Ali went missing.
– “The police are asking pointed questions about Spencer. Do we still have an understanding?” – Mr Hastings to Jessica
– Toby went to London just to tell Melissa Spencer relapsed?
– He thinks Spencer killed the girl, but Melissa tells him she did.
– Spencer chases Ali with a shovel. GAH. Ali finds her pills. Ah yes.
– Spencer leaves and drags the shovel back.
– She sees Byron and tells her about the tapes.- Her mom sees her get hit.
– Jessica buries Ali alive.
– Grunwald brings her to the hospital.
– Mona picks her up.
– Ali tells her about A; Mona tells her to pretend to die to escape.
– The A Lair and doll house already exist.
– So if Mona was original A, who tried to kill Ali !?
– There’s another 8 by Mona. On the Lost Woods motel wall paper again.
– “Thank me by staying gone.” – Mona
– Ian tries to kill Spencer because be loves her sister.
– He knew Allison was alive.
– The place was called The Mockingbird Sings
– A chases them and shoots them. If it mirrors shadow play Toby is A.
– Ezra is shot.
– Jessica is dead and buried.
Overall thoughts on this episode: We see Holbrook’s potential first connection with helping CeCe and Ali. CeCe says the girl who killed Bethany is the one torturing Ali (who we later find out is Melissa). We find out that Mr. Hastings and Jessica have some type of deal. Ali’s recollection of that night is very different than what we’ve seen in prior flashbacks. There is significant evidence that Ezra is Varjack. We find out Shana is on the roof (although I still think Toby was involved. Wren and Lucas are not in this episode. We also find out that Mona is the one obsessed with Dolls and that she had her lair before she was ‘helping’ Ali – so was she involved with Ali being hit that night? AND there’s an 8 by her!
I hopefully will watch the other two episodes tonight before the finale, but I have a feeling it may not happen.
But WOW so many details I forgot from these episodes. I’m so overwhelmed. I really want Aria to be A. But it looks like it may be Toby!
